Overview

Palais des Thés was founded in Paris in the 1980s by François-Xavier Delmas, who moved early to buying directly from the origin countries. The shop network grew from rue de l'Abbé-Grégoire to around a hundred boutiques, and the house also created signature teas for the Louvre. The 2026 calendar is dressed as a book, with 24 windows and a hand-stitched cotton tea bag behind each, along with a quote or proverb.

It holds the holiday-exclusive Organic Céleste Tea and 13 flavoured blends, among them Hammam, Funfair Tea, Tahitian Tea, Tibetan Monks Tea, Lords Tea and Thé du Louvre. Seven are single-estate teas: Grand Jasmin Chun Feng, Genmaicha Yama, Long Jing, Big Ben, Imperial Grand Yunnan, Darjeeling Mist Bari and Imperial Pu Erh.

Three herbal infusions are caffeine-free. Thirteen of the 24 are labelled organic. The US shop lists it at $39.90 as a new, limited edition.

Taste & variety

Count the categories and the plan shows. Thirteen flavoured blends, from Hammam (green tea, rose, red berries) and Funfair Tea to Tibetan Monks, Lords Tea and the Thé du Louvre Courtyard Tea with black tea, citrus and blackberry.

Seven single-estate teas make the case for the house: Grand Jasmin Chun Feng, Genmaicha Yama, Long Jing, Big Ben, Imperial Grand Yunnan, Darjeeling Mist Bari and Imperial Pu Erh. Three herbal teas (Andalusian Garden, Herboriste N°74, By the Sea) are caffeine-free, and the holiday exclusive Organic Céleste Tea is a limited-edition blend.

Thirteen of the 24 are organic.

Packaging & gift appeal

The 2026 box is built like a book, with a window for each of the 24 days. Behind it is a hand-stitched cotton tea bag and a quote or proverb, so the daily cup comes with a line of reading.

Cotton bags are the quieter choice among tea bags, and they give the calendar a calmer look than the usual glossy cube. It is labelled a limited edition, new for this year.

A long-established house has no need to shout, and the box does not. It will look at home next to a book, which seems to be the point.

What is in the box

24 hand-stitched cotton tea bags with a quote or proverb each: Organic Céleste Tea, 13 flavoured blends including Hammam and Tibetan Monks Tea, seven single-estate teas such as Long Jing and Darjeeling Mist Bari, and three caffeine-free herbals.

Buying advice

The Palais des Thés US shop lists the 2026 edition at $39.90 and gives free shipping on orders from $55, so a calendar plus a tin of loose tea clears the threshold. The listing marks it new and a limited edition.

A reader in Europe should check the local site for the matching edition and price. Order before December: a limited edition has no second pressing.

Listed at $39.90.

What changed since last year

The box moves from last year's window design with golden snowflakes to a book-like format. Last year's calendar offered audio stories behind eleven windows; this one puts a quote or proverb with each hand-stitched tea bag. The limited-edition tea changes from Joie to Celeste, and the herbal selection is different.

Compared with archived brand pages and listings from 2025, checked October 16, 2026.

Our verdict

A book-shaped box from a house that buys direct from the countries where tea grows, and it shows in the seven single-estate teas set among the blends. For the drinker who wants some leaf and some perfume in the same month, it is among the more grown-up calendars on this site.

What we like

  • Seven single-estate teas alongside flavoured blends
  • Thirteen of the 24 teas are organic
  • Hand-stitched cotton bags with a quote or proverb at each window
A few things to know
  • 13 of the 24 are flavoured blends, and only seven are single-estate
  • Limited edition: this box is a one-season object
