Overview
T2 began in Melbourne in 1996, in a shop on Brunswick Street in Fitzroy, and Unilever bought the company in 2013 and sold its tea business, T2 included, in 2022; the brand now sits within Lipton Teas and Infusions. The 2026 calendar puts the art first: Kentaro Yoshida's illustration, which T2 says comes from childhood memories of buying fresh fish with his grandmother and collecting a weekly manga from the corner shop in his Tokyo hometown, runs over the box, and each tea sits behind its own door.
The teas are the T2 range at its sweetest: ten blacks (French Earl Grey, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Christmas and Zesty Breakfast, Morning Sunshine, Double Choc Chip, Pistachio Creme and Eggnog); five greens (Jasmine Pear, Green Rose, Gorgeous Geisha, Jade Mountain, Toasted Caramel Hojicha); five herbal tisanes; three fruit tisanes; and a Sticky Date Delight rooibos.
The bags are individually wrapped sachets, and the outer box is recyclable cardboard.
Taste & variety
Ten blacks lead, and half of them carry Breakfast in the name: Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Christmas and Zesty. French Earl Grey is the classic among them; Double Choc Chip, Pistachio Creme and Eggnog are the pudding side.
Five greens run from Jasmine Pear and Green Rose to Gorgeous Geisha, Jade Mountain and a Toasted Caramel Hojicha. Then the tisanes: five herbal (Sleep Tight, Just Peppermint, Lemongrass & Ginger, Tummy Tea, The Quiet Mind), three fruit (Packs a Peach, Strawberries & Cream, Pumping Pomegranate) and Sticky Date Delight, a rooibos.
That makes nine of the 24 naturally caffeine-free.
Packaging & gift appeal
Artist Kentaro Yoshida's illustration wraps the box, and T2 tells his story in a few lines: buying fresh fish with his grandmother, collecting a weekly manga from the corner shop, a cast of quirky local characters.
The tea is behind individual doors, 24 bags each in its own sachet, in a recyclable cardboard box. T2 says it has used compostable bags since 2021, made from plant-based PLA, with a paper tag printed in vegetable ink.
A box this colourful will not hide in a cupboard, so it earns a place on a shelf at least until January.
