Teabloom Winter Joy box opened with pyramid sachets beside its sleeve

Teabloom Winter Joy Gourmet Pyramid Teas Presentation Box Review

A winter presentation box of 12 pyramid sachets from Teabloom, two each of six festive blends: four black teas and two caffeine-free herbals, in a winter-illustrated gift box.

12 tea bags United States $29.95

8.1/10 Very good

Overview

Twelve pyramids and no doors: a winter presentation box to open on any evening, not an advent calendar. Teabloom, a teaware brand that sells flowering teas and glassware, fills it with plant-based pyramid sachets, six festive blends, two of each, every one wrapped for freshness. The four black teas are White Chocolate Peppermint, Paris Lights, Wild Cinnamon Spice and Spiced Orange Noir.

Mulled Spice and Festive Chai, the latter on rooibos, carry no caffeine. Teabloom says the blends are made in limited small batches from real spices, fruits and cocoa, with no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives; the ingredient list includes black, oolong and rooibos, peppermint, citrus peels, white chocolate and cocoa pieces and dried fruit.

Black teas are given three to five minutes, herbals five to seven. The shop notes possible traces of tree nuts. It sits beside the Teabloom Holiday box we also review. At teabloom.com it costs $29.95, with free standard shipping inside the United States.

Taste & variety

Six blends, two pyramids each. The black ones are playful: White Chocolate Peppermint (white chocolate sweetness, a frosty burst of mint), Paris Lights (blossoms and soft vanilla), Wild Cinnamon Spice (bold cinnamon with a twist of tangerine) and Spiced Orange Noir (bright orange, slow-burning spice).

The evening belongs to two caffeine-free blends: Mulled Spice, a wine-spice and fruit medley inspired by a holiday market, and Festive Chai, smooth rooibos with chai spices and a gentle ginger kick.

The ingredient list includes oolong, cocoa pieces, dried fruit and citrus peel.

Packaging & gift appeal

Each pyramid is plant-based, roomy enough for whole ingredients such as peppermint and fruit, and sealed in its own wrapper, which keeps the box tidy as it empties. The box itself is a winter-illustrated gift box, described as festive keepsake packaging.

Brew times and temperatures for each style are printed on it, a thoughtful touch for anyone who inherits the box and has no idea what a pyramid wants. One warning on the page: do not microwave the sachets.

Teabloom also notes possible traces of tree nuts, which matters in a box with white chocolate in it.

What is in the box

Buying advice

At teabloom.com the box was in stock at $29.95 when we checked, with free standard shipping inside the United States. It shares four blends with the Teabloom Holiday box, so if you are choosing between them, the difference is Paris Lights and Spiced Orange Noir here, against Spiced Pear and Cinnamon Plum there.

One gifting note: Teabloom flags possible traces of tree nuts, so check with a recipient who has an allergy before the box goes under the tree. Only the first two black blends carry sweet notes of chocolate or vanilla, so a dedicated plain-tea drinker may want something else.

Listed at $29.95.

Our verdict

Twelve wrapped pyramids in six festive blends, from White Chocolate Peppermint to Mulled Spice, in a winter-illustrated box. It reads as dessert in a cup and suits a person with a sweet tooth and a kettle.

A neat present for a host or a colleague, built for tasting rather than stocking up.

What we like

  • Four black teas and two herbals, so it covers morning and evening
  • A winter-illustrated gift box that looks like a present already
  • Steeping times printed right on the box
  • Pyramid sachets need no infuser
A few things to know
  • Only two sachets of each blend, so a favourite runs out fast
  • No flowering teas, the brand's best-known style
  • Two of the four black blends are sweet, so a plain-tea drinker may want something else
